What is Illumined Connections?

We’re a small company with a giant commitment to support nonprofits (NGOs) and any organization around the globe that is brightening the path for others. We support them by providing free revenue-generating, business and social networking websites.

These networking websites, linked to their own, help organizations to attract and retain members and increase the feeling of “community” in the organization. They’re also easy to use and just plain fun.

What is a social network?

A social network is a social structure generally made of individuals or organizations that are linked by one or more common interests or qualities, such as values, vision, ideas, financial exchange, friends or other. PCMag.com describes a social network as an association of people drawn together by family, work or hobby.

Is it just for nonprofits?

No. Any organization can have a website with us. Nonprofit organizations can get a FREE website. For-profit organizations or companies would pay modest design and set-up costs to get started.

Our team has gained great satisfaction from being nonprofit members. We also know that many for-profit businesses and organizations are making positive contributions. This service is a way for us to give something back, and also “pay it forward.” We support those dedicated organizations that nurture, enhance or celebrate the human spirit and the natural world.

How does your social networking service generate revenue for our non-profit organization?

We generate revenue by offering optional premium services and paid advertising that would be purchased by your members. We give back a portion of the advertising revenue generated by the members of your nonprofit organization to you, the organization.

The basic membership services, Business Directory, Classifieds, and Friend-Event Connections, are completely free.

The following are our fee-based, revenue-generating services:

• business display ads on directory pages
• business listings made visible to all other Illumined organization members

How much do you donate back to our non-profit organization?

We donate 25% of all member-generated revenue back to the organization.

How often do you donate funds back to the organization?

Quarterly, starting one month after the first three months of service.

Are there any requirements once we join?

Yes, a few.

• Introduce your new site to your members (and send an occasional reminder).
• Add the social networking link to your existing website.
• Encourage your members to advertise through display ads.
• Find a member to act as moderator for your social networking site.
